Lab Testing at Annapolis Asthma Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists
Most insurance companies now mandate the use of a specific laboratory processing center. We have no access to Quest or LabCorp’s billing. If you have any questions regarding a bill you received for laboratory (blood) studies, please direct them to the lab that processed them (or your insurance company).
Lab Results Log-in
Because laboratory studies are used in conjunction with the clinical history and physical exam and should be interpreted by a physician, an appointment will be necessary to determine which tests are appropriate. We may request that you have your blood drawn prior to your visit so that we may have results available to discuss at the time of your appointment. Your doctor will provide you the necessary referral slip to take to the outside lab. Listed below for your convenience are some of the closest facilities you can use.
Pulmonary Function Test Information
Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) play a key part in evaluating many respiratory problems. The testing, which takes about one hour, measures several components of lung function including; lung volumes, exhalation flow rates, response to bronchodilator medication and an indirect measurement of gas transfer across the lung tissue.
Full PFTs and spirometry (a component of PFTs) are used for diagnosing disease, assessing response to treatment and evaluating a patient’s lung status pre-surgery.
